Cookie Policy - Learn in Curve

1. Introduction

At Learn in Curve ("we", "us"), we believe in being clear and transparent about how we collect and use data related to you. This Cookie Policy applies to learnincurve.com and explains how we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to ensure our platform functions securely and effectively.

This notice is kept separate from our general Privacy Policy to make it easy for you to find and review our specific cookie practices.

2. Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)

• Authentication Cookie (Supabase): A secure session cookie provided by our backend database infrastructure, Supabase. It is strictly necessary to authenticate your account and keep you signed in as you navigate between pages.
• Cookie Choice Marker: When you choose Accept or Reject on our cookie banner, we store your choice (lic_cookie_consent_v2) in your browser's Local Storage so we do not ask you again on every page. This records your decision; it does not track you.

Because these are strictly necessary for the service to function, UK and EU privacy regulations (PECR and GDPR) do not require prior consent to set them.

2.2 Analytics (only with your consent)

If — and only if — you select Accept on our cookie banner, we load PostHog, a product analytics tool, which sets cookies and local storage entries in your browser. If you select Reject, or if you make no choice at all, the PostHog script is never downloaded and no analytics cookie is set.

We use PostHog to understand which lessons and features are actually used, where learners get stuck or drop out, and which parts of the platform are worth improving. We do not use it for advertising, and we never sell or share this data with advertisers.

What PostHog collects when you accept:

• Pages you visit within learnincurve.com, and when
• Clicks and interactions with on-page elements
• Technical information such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP address, and referring website. Your IP address itself is discarded at the point of collection and is never stored.
• Error diagnostics: if something breaks while you are using the site, we capture the technical details of the failure — the error message, the file and line it came from, and the page you were on — so we can find and fix it. These are developer-facing messages generated by our own code, not anything you typed.
• Session replay: a reconstruction of your visit — the pages you moved through and where you clicked. All text content and everything you type into any input field is masked before it leaves your browser, so your exam answers, written responses and personal details are not captured or visible to us.

Where it is processed: PostHog is configured to use its EU Cloud infrastructure, so this data is processed within the European Union.

How long it is kept: Session replays are kept for 30 days and then automatically deleted. Analytics events are currently retained for up to 7 years under our PostHog plan. You can ask us to delete data associated with you at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

3. Changing Your Mind

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it. Use the Change cookie settings button below: it brings the cookie banner back so you can choose again. If you then select Reject, PostHog is switched off and its identifier is cleared.

Clearing site data for learnincurve.com in your browser settings does the same thing, if you prefer to work that way.

4. Advertising

We do not load any advertising pixels or third-party marketing trackers. We have no plans to.

5. Controlling Cookies Yourself

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies through your web browser controls. You can set or amend your web browser settings to block or delete cookies at any time.

Please note: Blocking or deleting the Supabase authentication cookie via your browser settings will immediately sign you out and prevent you from logging into your Learn in Curve account, because that cookie is essential to the service. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on your ability to use the platform.
